Extended Perspective

The 1870 Art Center Gallery presents “Extended Perspectives”, a display of 3 dimensional photographs by Kay Podolsky. The opening reception will be Saturday, February 1st, 2 5 pm with the exhibition on view from January 29th through March 15th 2009.
The stunning works of Paper Decoupage by Kay Podolsky is the foundation of the 3 dimensional photographs now on display at the 1870 Art Center Gallery in Belmont.
The art of Paper Decoupage is the ancient craft of layering paper, having been perfected in France, China, Japan and Russia dating back centuries. Ms. Podolsky has spent countless hours meticulously cutting her photos and layering the images to create this remarkable 3D effect.
She earned her B.A. Degree at California State University, San Jose, and continues to sharpen her techniques at selected workshops. She is a member of the Focus Photographic Society of San Carlos and the National Association of PhotoShop Professionals.
Her works have been published in magazines and newspapers and national recognition came with the publication of her fine art photography book “WORLD POINT/WORLD LINE”. Following that were the books “Psychedelic Cats and Others” and “Global Kaleidoscope”.
