Mendocino Coast

Upon entering the gallery you might think that you had ventured into an exquisite landscape of Japanese prints, with their Azure blues, greens and earth tones, but think again. It’s the current work of Master Printmaker Susan Trubow, and her subject’s location is the glorious beauty of the Mendocino Coast. Her sense of design, textures and contrasting values are visually exciting and yet have a soothing effect. The format of these prints can be as large as 2’ by 5’ and the process is a silk screen serigraph. Trubow’s professional career includes teaching, international exhibitions in France, Great Britain, Japan and Romania. Juried national shows have given her many awards. She draws from a model on a regular basis and has examples of these as well in this exhibition.
